Stanford University is supposed to be about education. But its lies show that it’s just another propaganda institute.
https://news.stanford.edu/press-releases/2021/07/12/economic-impactsg-sea-level-rise/
Seven feet? Really?
There are two sea level stations near San Francisco that have fairly long term data. https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends.html
In the map above the one on the right near Oakland is called Alameda (top graph below) and the one on the left is called San Francisco (second graph below).
https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends_station.shtml?id=9414750
The sea level rise rate has been basically unchanged for 100 years.
These two stations are not very far apart and both are on the San Francisco Bay – and yet one shows more than twice the rate of sea level rise as the other. Using the larger of the two: 1.97 mm / yr for 80 years = 157 mm = 6.2 inches of sea level rise by the year 2100.
But Stanford says 7 feet!
Even the alarmist NASA/IPCC models say it will be somewhere between 38 – 63 cm in 2100 (1.5 to 2.5 feet) – also ridiculus, given that the data say 6 inches or less.

[2022/12/15] [See: http://appinsys.com/GlobalWarming/Quinalt.htm]
Seattle Times is lying about sea level rise for the Quinalt village.
“The Quinault Indian Nation is just one of many tribal communities now bearing the brunt of climate change despite contributing very little to it.”
From the article: “At the confluence of the Quinault River and Pacific Ocean, the village had already begun to experience the effects of sea level rise”
Really? The closest sea level station is at Neah Bay, WA – the sea level “rise” is shown below. It has actually been falling since data recording began (due to isostatic rebound since the ice age). [https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends_station.shtml?id=9443090]
And to the south of Quinalt is Astoria, OR – still no sea level rise:
So somehow the Quinalt are experiencing the “effects of sea level rise” when the sea level is not even rising there!
The lying EPA says: “The Quinault Indian Nation village of Taholah is located within Washington State at the confluence of the Quinault River and the Pacific Ocean. Taholah is particularly vulnerable to sea level rise”. https://www.epa.gov/arc-x/quinault-indian-nation-plans-relocation

https://crosscut.com/environment/2022/06/climate-change-takes-toll-seattleites-mental-health
From the above article:
“The city of Seattle projects 2 to 4 feet of sea level rise by 2100 in South Park between Marginal Way and the river.”
Puget Sound is not part of the open ocean and its surface level is not correlated with “sea level”, since it is an estuary that is blocked by sills.
The closest (to Seattle) ocean-based sea level station in is Neah Bay:
https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends_station.shtml?id=9443090
The northwest part of the continent is still rising due to isostatic rebound since the last ice age, resulting in declining sea levels along Alaska, British Columbia and Washington. Locales within those areas may have increasing water levels due to other localized factors. Puget Sound has very shallow connections to the ocean (sills blocking free flow), thus allowing it to have a sea level trend that is different from the adjacent ocean:
https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends_station.shtml?id=9447130
Note from the Seattle graph above, that the trend of 2.07 mm/yr has been essentially unchanged for over 120 years. The IPCC says climate change started in the1970s. But the trend never changed. No evidence of climate change. But the City of Seattle “projects 2 to 4 feet of sea level rise by 2100”. That is less than 80 years from now. But 2.07 x 80 / 25.4 equals 6.5 inches. Two feet would be 8 mm/yr – four times the rate ever observed!

[2018/07/07] See: http://appinsys.com/GlobalWarming/FloridaUpdate.htm
The Guardian says (26 June 2018):
The article states: -------------------------- “According to Marco Rubio, the junior senator from Florida, rising sea levels are uncertain, their connection to human activity tenuous. And yet the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change expects roughly two feet of rise by century’s end. The United Nations predicts three feet. And the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration estimates an upper limit of six and a half feet.”
[So the IPCC says 2 feet, the UN says 3 feet (not sure why they are different since the IPCC is the UN climate division) and NOAA says 6.5 feet]
“But Hal says it doesn’t matter whether you live six feet above sea level or sixty-five, because he, like James Hansen, believes that all of these predictions are, to put it mildly, very, very low. “The rate of sea level rise is currently doubling every seven years, and if it were to continue in this manner, Ponzi scheme style, we would have 205 feet of sea level rise by 2095,” he says. “And while I don’t think we are going to get that much water by the end of the century, I do think we have to take seriously the possibility that we could have something like 15 feet by then.” [Not sure why Hal says it doesn’t matter if you live at 65 feet if there is only 15 feet of sea level rise – but then logic is not a strong feature of the alarmists.]
“One of the few stories I remember from the Bible vividly depicts the natural and social world in crisis. It is the apocalyptic narrative par excellence – Noah’s flood. When I look it up again, however, I am surprised to find that it does not start with a rainstorm or an ark, but earlier, with unprecedented population growth and God’s scorn. It begins: “When human beings began to increase in number on the earth.” I read this line and think about the 6,000 inhabitants of south Florida turning into 6 million in 120 short years. “The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become.” ---------------------------
So that’s what all the fakery boils down to – the wickedness of the human race. I guess the Guardian and Elizabeth Rush are followers of Paul Erlich – humans are EVIL.
NOAA provides the following sea level graphs for Florida [https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends.html]:
So over the last hundred years the sea level has risen about 10 inches.
But, but, Hal / The Guardian / Elizabeth Rush says: ““The rate of sea level rise is currently doubling every seven years, and if it were to continue in this manner, Ponzi scheme style, we would have 205 feet of sea level rise by 2095” (Not sure what the Ponzi scheme has to do with it, but it must be bad!)
Obviously, the rates shown above have NOT been doubling every seven years – a clear lie. The rates are virtually unchanged over the available data. At 3 mm / year it would take 20,000 years to increase 205 feet! Clearly Hal is a fake news boy, with a strong disconnect from reality.

[2018/04/25] See: http://appinsys.com/GlobalWarming/EasterIsland.htm
New York Times: “… many of the remains of that civilization may be erased, the United Nations warns, by the rising sea levels rapidly eroding Easter Island’s coasts.” https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/03/14/climate/easter-island-erosion.html
Daily Mail:
SFgate:
https://www.sfgate.com/news/media/Easter-Island-s-Statues-Are-At-Risk-Of-1216654.php
But data exposes the lies of the media.
NOAA provides the following sea level graph for Easter Island:
https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends_station.shtml?id=810-003
PSMSL provides the following sea level graph for Easter Island:
http://www.psmsl.org/data/obtaining/stations/1272.php
So the sea level rise over the last ~50 years has been 0.06 +/- 0.95 mm/yr. When the error estimate (+/-0.95) is so much greater than the trend (0.06), it means the trend is not statistically significant from zero. Zero sea level rise at Easter Island.
The mainstream media are providing fake news, incorrectly reporting that Easter Island is having issues due to rising sea level. They say “the U.N. says” … so it must be true, and they are just reporting it from the authority - no fact checking.
According to the Star Tribune, I must be a blockhead. The actual data show that the Easter Island sea level scare is a hoax.

[2011/02/17] See: http://appinsys.com/GlobalWarming/Kiribati.htm
[http://www.npr.org/2011/02/16/133650679/climate-change-and-faith-collide-in-kiribati]
From the article: “So concerns about climate change are felt very acutely here. Though estimates are rough, scientists predict average sea levels could rise as much as 3 feet by the end of the century owing to global warming.”
So, sea levels could rise as much as 3 feet by the end of the century. No realistic range is given (or indication of how “rough” the estimates are, just an extreme. “Kiribatian President Anote Tong said the rising sea could "ultimately lead to the demise of island countries like Kiribati." According to Tong, it could happen within 50 years.”
The Australian government operates a sea level station in Kiribati. The following figure shows the last available report (through mid-2009) showing sea level anomalies for 1993 through June 2009. [http://www-cluster.bom.gov.au/ntc/IDO60102/IDO60102.2009_1.pdf] Each grid line is 0.1 m on the vertical scale with the zero being the line above which positive anomalies are colored red and negative anomalies, blue.
Note that the 1998 El Nino caused a sea level drop of almost 25 cm (10 inches).
Of course, the above is only 17 years of data (the only data available at the time). But NPR claims the sea will rise 3 feet by 2100. That would require a rise as indicated below.
[2022/12/29] NOAA says Kiribati
https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends_station.shtml?id=750-012
https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends_station.shtml?id=770-022
From the above two stations, the sea level rate is 1.17 +/- 1.36 mm/yr or maybe 0.94 +/-1.95. When the error estimate (1.36 and 1.95) is greater than the rate estimate (1.17 and 0.94) it means it is not statistically different from zero -- i.e no sea level rise.
NPR didn’t mention that the islands of Kiribati have actually been increasing in size – they instead lie and refer to it as “A Sinking Nation”.
But the UK’s Telegraph reported:
“Scientists have been surprised by the findings, which show that some islands have grown by almost one-third over the past 60 years. Among the island chains to have increased in land area are Tuvalu and neighbouring Kiribati … In Kiribati, the three of the most densely populated islands, Betio, Bairiki and Nanikai, also grew by between 12.5 and 30 per cent. … "Eighty per cent of the islands we've looked at have either remained about the same or, in fact, got larger.” "We've now got evidence the physical foundations of these islands will still be there in 100 years," he told New Scientist magazine. “It has long been thought that as the sea level goes up, islands will sit there and drown. But they won't," Professor Kench said.”
NPR has links to several other articles on Kiribati – none of which mention the studies showing that coral atolls actually grow as the sea rises, but all of them repeat the global warming lies.
[2022/12/29] Tuvalu is another Pacific Island that is often lied about by the MSM. It also is growing.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-12-19/fact-check-is-the-island-nation-tuvalu-growing/10627318
“Liberal MP and climate sceptic Craig Kelly made headlines in November when he was caught on tape mocking "lefties" for exaggerating the effects of climate change.” “In the four decades to 2014, Tuvalu's total land area grew by 73 hectares, or 2.9 per cent. … The research cited by Mr Kelly suggests certain islands — specifically, larger atolls and reef platforms — can adapt to the current pace of sea level rise.”
Sorry – no climate emergency.
