Corn Belt Data
Corn production has increased over the past 60+ years. [https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/maize-yields?tab=chart&country=~USA ]
The following climate graphs are from https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/cag/regional/time-series
Maximum temperatures on an annual basis for the past 100 years (NO WARMING):
(For those who do not know how NOAA calculates this: maximum temperature readings [late afternoon] from each day are averaged to give the month average [shown in graphs below]. Months are averaged to give the annual value [shown in the graph above. They also perform data adjustments – but that is a different topic.)
July is the hottest month in the corn belt (NO WARMING in the past 100 years):
August is the second hottest month in the corn belt (NO WARMING in the past 100 years):
May is planting time for corn in the corn belt (NO WARMING for the past 100 years):
Corn planting is dependent on the weather warming up enough. So the minimum temperature [night time] is also important. Night time temperatures in May have been warming over the past 100 years (so less chance of frost):
Too wet is not good for corn planting. While May precipitation has a long-term increasing trend, most recent years have been less than +/- 0.5 inches of rain away from the long-term average.
From the Yahoo news article:
So the alarmists admit that there haven’t been “any harmful impacts from climate change yet”.
What they don’t mention is that drought has been in decline over the past 100 years. The drought severity index shown below is green in non-drought years.

Conclusion
From the Yahoo news article: ---------------- ----------------
As always, the alarmists are simple propagandists, making statements that are not supported by data. The UN IPCC says droughts and temperature extremes will decrease agricultural yields and result in widespread famine. Fortunately, the corn belt is not experiencing “climate change”, so their dire warnings are all BS.
Corn belt summer maximum temperatures are NOT INCREASING. Drought is in decline. Unfortunately, alarmist “climate change” nonsense is on the rise.
